India's primary healthcare spending crosses ₹1.4 lakh crore

India's public spending on primary healthcare has more than doubled from ₹0.5 lakh crore in 2013-14 to ₹1.4 lakh crore in 2022-23, according to the latest National Health Accounts estimates. The government said expanded Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, free medicines, diagnostic services, and screening programmes have strengthened healthcare access across the country.
