India's richest woman and Independent candidate Savitri Jindal has won from Hisar constituency in Haryana Assembly elections. She defeated Congress candidate Ram Niwas Rara with a margin of nearly 19,000 votes. The 74-year-old fought Haryana elections as an Independent candidate after the BJP denied her a ticket from Hisar. Notably, her son and industrialist Naveen Jindal is a BJP MP.
