India should move beyond low-cost drug maker image: Commerce Secy

Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said India's pharmaceutical industry must strengthen its reputation for reliability and innovation to boost exports. He also stressed the need to move beyond the image of being only a low-cost drug manufacturer and focus on building global trust in the quality of its medicines. India should aim to become globally recognised for consistent quality, he added.
