India slams UN over remarks on CJP-led protests in Delhi, issues statement
India has rejected the UN human rights office’s concerns over mass detentions during Cockroach Janta Party-led protests in Delhi, calling them "misplaced" and "unwarranted interference" in India’s internal affairs. It said that peaceful assembly was constitutionally guaranteed, subject to reasonable restrictions. It urged the UN body to address large-scale protests elsewhere impartially.
