India sought Nijjar's death certificate from Canada but it asked for a reason

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had sought Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar's death certificate from Canada nearly six months ago but Canada sought a reason for seeking the document, an official said. Canada alleged India's role in Nijjar's murder but New Delhi termed the accusations baseless. NIA sought the document to complete probe in cases where Nijjar was an accused.
