India steps up hepatitis fight to meet 2030 elimination goal

India is expanding hepatitis screening, free testing and treatment services under the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme to achieve elimination by 2030. The initiative covers Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E, providing free care, medicines and awareness support. Pregnant women and newborns are also included in prevention efforts through vaccination programmes.
