India successfully test fires beyond visual range missile 'Astra' with over 100 km range

The DRDO and IAF successfully conducted flight-test of indigenous Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air missile (BVRAAM) 'Astra'. The missile, equipped with an indigenous Radio Frequency (RF) seeker, was launched from a Su-30 Mk-I fighter jet off the Odisha coast. Astra BVRAAM has a range exceeding 100 kms and is equipped with state-of-the art guidance and navigation system, Ministry of Defence said.
