India tags 1st satellite-tracked Ganges softshell turtle

India achieved a major conservation milestone by releasing its first satellite-tagged Ganges softshell turtle in Assam's Kaziranga National Park. This vulnerable freshwater species, vital to the river's ecosystem, will be tracked to study its behaviour, migration, and responses to environmental threats. This initiative will help scientists to ensure the aquatic reptile's long-term survival.
