India takes down 2 Chinese apps used to remotely disable e-rickshaws after prank videos go viral

Two Chinese battery management apps, BAT BMS and Epoch Li-ion, have been removed from the Android Play Store and Apple App Store after being misused to remotely disable e-rickshaws, the government said. The government examined the apps after prank videos went viral on social media. Pranksters paired with vehicles over Bluetooth and cut battery discharge and left drivers stranded mid-route.
