India to get 2 new airlines as govt gives approval

The government has approved two new airlines, Al Hind Air and FlyExpress, this week. A third airline - Shankh Air - which had received its NOC earlier, is expected to begin operations in 2026. Following the IndiGo crisis, which resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of flights, the government stated its intention to end the duopoly in the aviation sector.
