A report by Google-KPMG states that the 120 million-strong online gamer base in India will more than double to 310 million by 2021. The report states that the rise in the numbers will be due to the increasing smartphone penetration and convenient digital payment options in India. Notably, gaming is expected to become a billion-dollar industry in India by 2021.
