India to monitor 8 coal plants near Delhi for emissions

UP and Haryana will conduct quarterly monitoring of eight coal-fired power plants with 10GW combined capacity to ensure emission norm compliance ahead of winter pollution season. The plants, including NTPC Dadri and Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project, contribute nearly 8% of PM2.5 pollution in NCR. Biomass co-firing and technical workshops are also planned.
