Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that India will open a consulate in Malaysia in Kota Kinabalu, stating that this will help in "bringing our nations even closer". Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed the move, saying the country has immediately agreed to the opening of a new Indian consulate. Notably, PM Modi is on a two-day visit to Malaysia.
