India to resume tourist visas for Chinese citizens after 5-yr pause post-Galwan clash

India has issued a revised framework to grant regular tourist visas to Chinese nationals, over five years after suspension following the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. The move follows a series of steps last year, including a January 2025 agreement to resume direct passenger flights. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, which was suspended for five years, was also revived in June 2025.
