India to spend 75% of defence capital outlay on domestic purchases

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the government will spend 75% of the total defence capital outlay on procurement from domestic defence manufacturers from 2023-24. This means around ₹1,00,000 crore for procurement of military platforms and equipment from Indian manufacturers. Singh further said Aero India has shown that the Indian defence sector is ready to move with top global defence firms.
