India to unveil 20 maritime reforms to cut logistics costs

The Ports Ministry is preparing to unveil about 20 reforms in the first 90 days of FY27 to strengthen the country's maritime ecosystem and cut logistics costs. The reforms include establishing a dedicated regulator for the sector and revamping shipbuilding guidelines to promote shipbuilding clusters in India. The government is also looking to operationalise a maritime development fund.
