India unveils MANAS 1 AI model for EEG brain analysis

India has launched MANAS 1, a 400-million-parameter AI model trained on 60,000 hours of EEG data from 25,000 patients. Developed by Intellihealth under the Indian AI Mission, the open-source model aims to decode brainwave patterns and support early detection of neurological and psychiatric disorders, strengthening AI-driven healthcare infrastructure nationwide.
