India unveils Matsya 6000, its 1st manned deep-sea submersible

India has unveiled Matsya 6000, its first-ever crewed deep-sea submersible. It'd conduct its first manned dive of 500 meters by 2026 and 6000 metres by 2027. It features high-density Li-Po batteries, underwater acoustic telephones, bio-vests for crew safety and drop-weight emergency escape mechanisms. It operates for 12 hours normally and 96 hours in emergency.
