India win medal in soft tennis for 1st time in Asian Games history

India's Jay Meena won the country's first-ever Asian Games medal in soft tennis, taking bronze in men's singles at Asian Games 2026. The 26-year-old reached the semi-finals after defeating Philippines' Sherwin Nuguit 4-3 in a seven-game quarter-final thriller. Meena then lost to Japan's Takuya Kurosaka in the semi-final. He had previously reached quarter-finals at the Asian Games 2022.
