India win their first-ever women’s pole vault medal in Asian Games history

India's Baranica Elangovan created history by winning bronze in the women's pole vault at Asian Games 2026, becoming the country's first-ever medallist in the event. She cleared 4.15m to share bronze medal with Kazakhstan's Polina Ivanova. Baranica, who is 29 years old, hails from Tamil Nadu.
