Indian Army launches IBGs, appoints 6 major generals

The Indian Army has launched five Integrated Battle Groups (IBGs) and one Fire Support Group (FSG), with six Major Generals taking command. Introduced as a pilot under the 17 Mountain Strike Corps, the reform aims to create faster, self-contained combat formations, shorten decision-making chains, improve battlefield coordination, and strengthen operational readiness.
