Indian Army scales Arunachal's highest peak Mount Kangto

An Indian Army mountaineering team from Eastern Command has created history by becoming the first to summit the 7,042 m Mount Kangto, Arunachal Pradesh's highest and previously unconquered peak. The 18-member team braved rarefied air, deep crevasses and near-vertical ice walls during the mission. Lt Gen RC Tiwari commended the climbers, calling the achievement a proud moment for the nation.
