Indian govt demands ₹2.7 lakh crore from Reliance, BP over gas underproduction

Indian government is seeking over $30 billion in damages from Reliance Industries and British Petroleum (BP) for allegedly failing to produce natural gas from offshore fields. The dispute began in 2016 and centres on deepwater fields, D1 and D3, in the Krishna Godavari basin. Government claims mismanagement by both companies led to loss of most reserves in D1 and D3.
