Indian households expect inflation to hit 10% in a year: RBI survey

RBI's September 2026 survey showed median household inflation expectation rose 60 bps to 10% for next 12 months, up from 9.4% in July. Current inflation perception increased to 8.4%. Nearly 89% expect prices to rise over next year. RBI raised repo rate 25 bps to 5.50% on October 7 amid inflation concerns.
