Indian IT firms to reduce bench strength to 8-10% in FY27: Report

Major Indian IT companies, including Infosys, TCS and HCLTech, are expected to reduce their average bench strength to around 8-10% in FY27, according to TeamLease Digital. This is significantly lower than the pre-AI average of 20-30%. In the IT services industry, benching refers to employees who remain on the payroll but are not deployed on active projects.
