Indian man executed in Saudi Arabia in 43-kg drug smuggling case

A 41-year-old Kerala man, Abootty Vellili, was executed in Saudi Arabia on Sunday after being convicted of smuggling methamphetamine into the kingdom. The sentence was carried out in Eastern Province after court rulings were upheld and a royal order issued. Around 43 kg of drugs were recovered from his vehicle after he entered Saudi Arabia from Oman in 2023.
