Indian National Awaiting Deportation Dies In US Hospital

Indian national Jaspal Singh, 57, died in Atlanta while awaiting deportation for illegal entry into the US. ICE notified the Indian Consulate and his family. Singh entered legally in 1992 but faced deportation in 1998. He was reapprehended in 2023 and placed in ERO custody. An autopsy is pending. ERO follows protocol for detainee deaths.
