Indian Navy to induct ancient stitched ship on May 21
On May 21, the Indian Navy will induct an Ancient Stitched Ship at Karwar, unveiled by Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Inspired by 5th-century Ajanta paintings, the ship was handcrafted by Kerala artisans using traditional methods. This historic vessel blends ancient design with modern testing, marking India’s rich maritime heritage and plans for a maiden voyage from Gujarat to Oman.
