Indian Navy veteran unable to return from Qatar despite relief from death sentence, govt responds

Former Indian Navy official Purnendu Tiwari, whose death sentence was commuted by Qatar in 2023 along with seven others, hasn't been able to return to India, with his family seeking Centre's help. The government said Tiwari's continued detention is due to a separate case that's unrelated to the earlier espionage case. The another case is reportedly linked to financial irregularities.
