Indian Railways eyes ₹30,000 crore boost from cargo in 3 years

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said initiatives to boost cargo movement could generate an additional ₹30,000 crore for Railways over the next three years. The government has introduced a major reform of the GatiShakti Cargo Terminal (GCTs) framework to create integrated 'cargo plus processing' hubs. It aims to expand terminals from the existing 124 to 500 within five years.
