Indian refiners paying for Iranian oil in Chinese yuan, govt says 'Nothing wrong'

Indian refiners are using Chinese yuan to pay for Iranian oil and some purchases of Russian crude, Reuters reported. The refiners are settling the payments through ICICI Bank, which is routing funds via its Shanghai branch. Oil Secretary Sujata Sharma said there's nothing wrong in refiners settling payments using the Chinese yuan, adding, "OMCs are operating within the rules."
