Indian rules bar lawyers and doctors from advertising

In India, lawyers and doctors are prohibited from advertising their services under professional conduct rules. BCI Rule 36 bars advocates from promoting or advertising their practice through hoardings, media or digital platforms. The restriction is based on treating law and medicine as professions, unlike countries such as the US, UK and Australia where regulated advertising is permitted.
