Indian rupee becomes Asia's worst-performing major currency in 2026, list shows comparison
The Indian rupee became Asia's worst-performing major currency in 2026 as it declined 7.6% against the US dollar. The Indonesian rupiah has fallen 5.5%, followed by the Korean won (-3.83%), Thai baht (-3.54%), Japanese yen (-1.55%), Taiwanese dollar (-0.98%) and Hong Kong dollar (-0.66). The Chinese yuan rose 3.06%, while Mayalsian ringgit and Singapore dollar rose 1.92% and 0.52%, respectively.
