Indian rupee becomes Asia's best performer as COVID-19 cases fall
The Indian rupee has rebounded in May to become Asia's top-performing currency from its worst on signs that India's COVID-19 situation may be improving. The Indian currency has surged around 1.7% against the US dollar so far in May. In April, the rupee fell to the lowest in nine months as daily COVID-19 cases in India soared above 3 lakh.
