Indian & Russian firm awarded management of Sri Lankan airport

An Indian and Russian firm will take over management of Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport in Sri Lanka. Once dubbed by Forbes as the "world's emptiest international airport", the facility will be managed for 30 years by Shaurya Aeronautics (Pvt) Ltd and 'Airports of Regions'. Built at a cost of $209 million, the airport was funded through Chinese commercial loans.
