Indian startups have laid off 37,260+ employees since 2022

Since the onset of the funding winter in 2022, an estimated 37,264 employees have been laid off by 130 Indian startups. Further, edtech has seen the most layoffs, followed by consumer services and ecommerce. The three sectors have collectively seen 59 startups laying off 26,730 employees since last year.
