Indian-origin boy wins Australian spelling bee

A nine-year-old Melbourne-based India-origin boy, Anirudh Kathirvel, has won the $50,000 'The Great Australian Spelling Bee' contest. Kathirvel, born to a Tamilian family, was award $50,000 education scholarship and $10,000 worth goods for his school. He said his favourite word to spell was 'euouae' while he also liked spelling 'feuilleton, cephalalgia and ombrophobous'.
