Indian-origin politician Malaysia's first Sikh minister

Indian-origin lawyer and politician Gobind Singh Deo became Malaysia's first minister from the Sikh community after he was handed the communications and multimedia portfolio in the Malaysian cabinet on Tuesday. The 45-year-old is one of the two politicians of Indian descent in the current Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's cabinet.
