A United Nations survey on international migrant trends revealed that 16 million Indians lived outside their country in 2015, making them the largest diaspora population the world over. The survey added that the number of international migrants reached 244 million last year, and US was the top destination with 47 million migrants, followed by Germany and Russia at joint second.
