Indians in UAE paying up to ₹2,30,000 for flights to return to Kerala for polls: Reports

Some Indian overseas voters in the UAE are paying up to 9,000 dirhams (nearly ₹2,30,000) for flights to return to India and vote in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, multiple reports stated. High airfares triggered by the war in West Asia are expected to significantly reduce turnout among Gulf-based Kerala voters. Kerala has nearly 2.3 lakh overseas voters.
