India's backing of human rights at UNHRC inconsistent: CHRI

India did not consistently support human rights issues, including the death penalty, torture and right to peaceful protests, at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), according to analysis by the forum by Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI). India was the only Asia-Pacific Commonwealth country to abstain from voting on resolutions on defamation of religions, the report added.
