India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) mechanism has been officially launched in Paris, France. With this, Indian tourists can book their visit to Eiffel Tower by using UPI-powered apps to scan QR code on merchant website and initiating a payment. The move to launch UPI in France was first announced by PM Narendra Modi during his visit to France last year.
