IndiGo seeks RBI nod to use rupee onboard overseas flights

The country's largest airline IndiGo has approached the RBI seeking permission "to export currency notes of up to ₹1,50,000 to enable [the airline] to provide change to passengers" during onboard sales in international flights. It has also sought permission to import "without any limit", currency notes in rupees collected from passengers. The budget carrier flies to over 15 overseas destinations.
