Indira Gandhi removed my father as Union Secretary: S Jaishankar
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has revealed that his father K Subrahmanyam was removed by Indira Gandhi as Union Secretary in 1980. He said that his father being a 'very upright person' may've caused a problem, adding, "After that, he never became a Secretary again." Subrahmanyam was replaced by a junior as Cabinet Secretary during the Rajiv Gandhi period, Jaishankar said.
