Indo-Canadian Niki Sharma appointed Dy Premier of British Columbia

Niki Sharma, an MLA of Indian descent, has been appointed Deputy Premier of British Columbia, becoming the first woman of colour in this role. Alongside her, Ravi Kahlon, Ravi Singh Parmar, and Jagrup Brar from the Indo-Canadian community will join the provincial Cabinet. Sharma, a former Attorney General, has a history of introducing significant legal reforms, including the Anti-Racism Act.
