Indore Mayor's helpline got water contamination warning before deaths, but it was ignored

At least nine people died, and over 200 were hospitalised in Indore's Bhagirathpura after consuming contaminated drinking water. As per reports, a warning was first flagged on mayor's helpline on October 15 in the form of a routine complaint, but no action followed. Repeated complaints were ignored for months, allowing sewer-contaminated water to spread and trigger deadly outbreak, reports added.
