Industry chemicals delaying ozone layer recovery by 7 yrs: MIT

Scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) addressed depletion of ozone layer saying chemicals still permitted for industrial use are leaking into atmosphere, delaying the ozone recovery by up to seven years. Ozone layer acts a shield by blocking harmful UV radiation from Sun. The Montreal Protocol in 1987 is an international environmental treaty designed to protect the ozone layer.
