Infants pay attention, learn languages through eye contact: Study

A study published in 'Nature Communications' found that infants pay attention and learn languages through eye contact with a person. Scientists monitored brain activity of infants when a speaker's eyes were visible or covered. They found that infants were learning the language and their brainwaves were in sync with the speaker's brainwaves only when the latter's eyes were clearly visible.
