Infectious disease expert warns against ignoring persistent fever

Dr Navneet Arora, an infectious diseases consultant, warned that a persistent fever is often the first hidden sign of a sexually transmitted disease which many people mistake for a simple cold. A lingering fever after a risky encounter could be a symptom of something serious that requires a specific test rather than standard fever medicines, he added.
