Inmate escapes Goa jail when asked to dump garbage outside; hunt on

A statewide manhunt was launched in Goa on Tuesday after an undertrial in central prison escaped from there when he was assigned to dump garbage outside the jail premises. Hemraj Bharadwaj was facing trial in a narcotics case. "We have alerted the police ensuring the borders were sealed within 20 minutes of his escape," Inspector General (Prisons) Gurudas Pilarnekar said.
